ANF recovers 86 kgs heroin

Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on Tuesday recovered huge consignment of 86 kgs of heroin from a car on Kohat road near Matani Bypass and arrested a notorious drug trafficker. On a tip off, that an inter-provincial smuggling gang will try to smuggle out huge quantity of heroin in a Mercedes car from tribal area to Peshawar for onward transportation to Punjab province.
ANF deployed its force at different roads emanating from tribal areas to foil the attempt. The suspected car appeared near Matani on Kohat road and was signalled to stop but the driver instead accelerated the speed, which was intercepted after a hectic chase. The car overrun a barrier but was stopped when its tyres were fired upon by the ANF staff.
Thorough search of the car lead to the recovery of 86 kgs of heroin that was tactfully concealed in the secret cavities. Drug trafficker namely Khayal Muhammad S/O Rauf Shah R/O Khawaja Abad Colony, Bannu Road, Kohat was arrested on the spot. The estimated value of the seized heroin is approximately Rs 850 million in the international market.
