Sindh Accountant General Zulfiqar Ali Kadri has said the computerisation of all the accounting offices of the province will be completed by the end of current financial year to ensure that all government payments are transparent and facilitate public sector employees at the maximum possible level, says a press release.
He said this while talking to a World Bank Mission, which met him at his office led by Ismaila Ceasay here on Tuesday. Kadri told delegates that the computerisation of AG Sindh offices is being carried out under the Project to Improve Financial Reporting and Auditing (Pifra), and the province is leading all other provinces regarding the accounts services.
He said the pension payment procedure has been computerised first time in the country, but the most important thing is that the Sindh is leading in the financial statement generation for the stock holders.
Kadri also said the GP Fund (general provident fund) and the pension are among his priorities to facilitate the government employees. The AG Sindh said that in the December 27 riots, many government offices were burnt, but it has not affected the working of the AG Sindh and its offices and due to computerisation the payments are being made throughout the province. He in this regard lauded the support of the Pifra team.
The World Bank team applauded the efforts of the AG Sindh regarding the achievement of set targets, in financial reporting and other related fields. Pifra DG Ms Shama Ehsan also expressed her views regarding project and working of AG Sindh office. Additional AG Ghufran Memon, Deputy AG Aziz Ahmmedzia, and Khalid Mehboob also expressed their views regarding Pifra project.-PR
