According to a report published in Mid-Day, Bandra Family Court has granted divorce to the estranged couple. Malaika and Arbaaz have been married for 18 years and have a 14-year-old son, Arhaan.

While Malaika has been given their son’s custody, Arbaaz has been granted visitation rights, Mid-Day reported.

Malaika and Arbaaz announced separation in March, 2016 and in November they have filed for divorce. As per the rules, the six months time which the court usually gives to every estranged couple to reconsider their decision is over today and Malaika and Arbaaz failed to save their marriage and now they are finally signing the divorce paper.

It is not yet clear what caused the crack in their marriage but Arbaaz Khan’s unstable financial condition and Malaika’s close proximity with actor Arjun Kapoor are touted to be the reason of their separation. Their differences first came into forefront when they hosted the reality show, ‘Power Couple’ together. They hosted the show jointly but in mid-way, Malaika left the show and Arbaaz concluded the season solo.

The Khan and Arora families had several meeting to reconcile them but they finally gave up. Malaika and Arbaaz decided not to get back together again. Salman Khan also tried his level best to save his younger brother’s marriage but he too failed.

Though separated, Malaika and Arbaaz were spotted together in various occasions. Recently, the couple was spotted at Justin Bieber’s concert in Mumbai with their son, Arhaan.
