Makai prices sharply lower on grain market

Modest decline was seen on the grain market on Thursday as supply improved in process of trading, dealers said. On the cereals side, Makai low type was lower by Rs 185 to Rs 1725 and better type followed suit and lost Rs 200 to Rs 1750.
Masoor Australia, however, gained Rs 150 to Rs 5850, dal Masoor Canada quoted higher at Rs 6800. Sugar prices slipped by Rs 50 to Rs 2050-2300, they added. Slow demand pushed the prices down in the rice sector as Irri-6 Sindh inferior type fell by Rs 30 to Rs 2200 and good type was up by Rs 50 to Rs 2250, Irri white shed Rs 40 to Rs 1750-1760 during the lacklustre activity, they added.
