Police arrested a suspected suicide bomber from a hotel here on Saturday and recovered weapons and explosive from his possession. This was informed by DPO Imran Shaukat while speaking at a press conference here.
He said on tip off, the police raided room No 315 of Venus hotel in the jurisdiction of Makki Shah police station late Friday night. During the raid police arrested alleged suicide bomber identified as Muhammad Islam son of Mehar Din a resident of Tando Adam.
He said police seized a jacket which is used in suicide attack, 14 kg explosive, live rounds 7mm rifles and bullets of other weapons, two cell phones, two fake driving licenses, 14 fake weapon licenses and other things. On interrogation, the arrested accused confessed that he is an activist of Tanzeemul Jihad. Police also recovered literature, stickers and religious magazines of Jihad organisation.
