Probe into Benazir murder completed

Head of joint investigating team into the assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, Chaudhry Abdul Majeed said here on Sunday that inquiry into killing of former prime minister has been completed as the five suspects arrested in this regard have confessed their crime.
Additional Inspector General CID Punjab Chaudhry Abdul Majeed said this, while addressing a press conference here. City Police Officer, DIG Syed Saud Aziz was also present on the occasion.
The head of investigating team revealed that during the probe it was learnt that Baitullah Mahsood had given Rs 400,000 to Qari Ismail, who sent five miscreants to Rawalpindi for killing Benazir Bhutto. He said they had planned to target Benazir Bhutto in different cities, until she was assassinated.
AIG Abdul Majeed said that Abdul Rashid involved in Benazir Bhutto's killing was also the mastermind to fire a missile on the Aeronautical Complex Kamra. Majeed said a joint investigation team headed by him was constituted by the government of Punjab to probe into the assassination of the former prime minister.
