Sherpao foresees coalition governments in centre, provinces

Chairman PPP (Sherpao) and Former Interior Minister Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao on Monday said that he foresees coalition governments both in the centre and in Frontier Province in the wake of February 18 elections.
Talking to APP after casting his vote at his village Sherpao in Charsadda, the PPP (S) leader said that no single party would gain simple majority and predicated that coalition governments would be formed in the country.
He said his party could form government with any political party getting majority in the parliament and in the provinces adding that people has exercised their right to franchise today in a peaceful atmosphere. Aftab Sherpao said that he does not see any reason that the next parliament would not complete the mandated period.
In reply to a question, he said if the parliament works within the parameters than it should be allowed to complete its constitutional period. The caretakers remained impartial in the electoral process, he said and denounced the notion of the opposition about poll rigging and favour to any specific party.
He said the foreign observers and scores of TV channels are monitoring elections and expressed satisfaction over the election arrangements. Moreover, he went on to add that the parties that boycotted the polls have no standing in Charsadda District.
