Old enmity claims two lives

Two people were killed and two others injured in Rawalpindi when a rival party started indiscriminate firing on Mumraiz, a resident of Chontra village outside the District Headquarter Hospital on Tuesday afternoon.
According to details, two families had developed feud in Chontra village of suburban area of Rawalpindi. Mumraiz, who was injured in a clash sometime back was admitted in DHQ Hospital Rawalpindi. After giving him treatment for more than four days, doctors discharged him from the hospital.
The said person left for home and when he reached at the gate of DHQ Hospital four members of his rival group opened fire on him. Two persons including Malik Nazir, brother of Mumraiz and a rickshaw driver Abdullah died on the spot while two others including a police constable Mehdi Hassan and Mirdad received bullet injuries. Mumraiz remained unhurt as he was standing behind the rickshaw.
The injured were rushed to DHQ Hospital for medical aid while bodies of two dead were handed over to their relatives for funeral. The shooters managed easy escape from the scene because no police was present on this busiest spot of downtown of Rawalpindi despite the fact that City Police Station, CIA and Kotwali are yards away from it. Later on police reached on the site and filed a case against the shooters on the complaint of Mumraiz.
