20 Feb, 2008

Not only the fairness of elections, but also the silence of voters have not only toppled but also evaporated the multi-faceted political giants and king-makers from the political panorama of the country.
The fairness of the elections and downfall of bigwigs had set up new parameters and examples for the newly elected representatives for adopting a collective approach on national issues as well as to ensure their genuineness with the masses.
It may be mentioned that people were reluctant to participate in elections, saying that candidates contesting the elections were "unreliable not trustworthy," and hopefully these views are sufficient for eye opening of the elected representatives.
The people's representatives have to change their attitude work for the betterment of the masses and development of the country, keeping in minds the fairness of the 2008 elections.
The uppermost duty of the elected representatives is to focus their attention on strengthening the democratic institutions, bringing out the country of multifarious crisis and to ensure continuity and stability of national economy, social justice and legislation on floor crossing.
The newly elected representatives and political parties are required to focus only on legislation and fulfilling the manifestos for their credibility and refrain from digging the old issues for the larger national interest.
The practice of plundering of national exchequer and lust of percentage for becoming richer should not be repeated because the country had already faced serious economic setbacks in the past.
Apart from this, political parties should collectively work above from their agenda for the elimination of provincialism, terrorism and other social evils for purging the country these menace.
