Afghan resident with explosives arrested

The Capital City Police (CCP) has foiled a bid to sabotage election activity in Peshawar city arrested an Afghan refugee and seized high power explosive material from his possession. The Police also recovered fuses, screws from the custody of the arrested person, said a press release issued here on Tuesday.
According to details, the Chief, CCP, Tanveerul Haq Sipra on a tip off directed the SSP Operation, Muhammad Tahir Khan to conduct raids at all entry and exit points of Peshawar and monitors the movement of the suspect.
The incident took place when the police stopped an Afghan national entering from tribal area to Peshawar at Hayatabad, after body search found high-powered explosive material that he was carrying with. The person was identified as Abdur Rahim, son of Rustam and resident of Afghanistan.
