Missile programme

Pakistan continues to make advances in missiles technology at a quite appreciable and encouraging pace. This augurs well for the maintenance of minimum defence deterrent in view of the strategic locations and developments in the region in particular and the world over in general.
Only the other day, Pakistan successfully test-fired Ghaznavi (Hatf-III) Short Range Ballistic Missile with a range of 290 kilometers. This was yet another achievement of the Strategic Missile Group of Pakistan Army's Strategic Force Command as part of their important and sensitised training.
The field launch exercise was witnessed by caretaker Prime Minister Muhammadmian Soomro, Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani and others. President Pervez Musharraf has felicitated the Strategic Missile Group officers and jawans of the Army's Strategic Force Command for successful launching of the Ghaznavi (Hatf-III) Short Range Ballistic Missile and said through their committed, dedicated and devoted services they are making the nation genuinely proud.
