A navy man was killed and his wife seriously injured when an unidentified car hit a motorcycle at Saeedabad on Friday. Police said a speedy car hit the motorcycle of Asghar, 45 from back, killing him on the spot and leaving his wife Hussna, 40 critically injured.
Police further said that case against the unidentified car driver, who escaped the scene, has not been registered as relatives of the victims have yet to traced. The injured and the deceased have been shifted to civil hospital.
In another incident, a dacoit was killed and his accomplice injured in an encounter with police at FB Area in the jurisdiction of Gulberg police station. Police said that Ahsan, Head Constable and Nadeem, Constable during routine patrolling located two suspected persons at Gulberg roundabout.
When policemen inquired them, they opened fire and tried to flee from the scene. The police retaliated with firing, which killed Mushtaq, 28 on the spot and left Kashif, 25 seriously injured. Police have recovered two pistols and registered a case in Gulberg police station.
