Decorators who supplied tents, rugs, chairs and tables for the election offices of candidates near the polling stations on polling day have been finding difficulties in collecting their bills from the losing candidates, reports UPP correspondent.
The losing candidates in the Karachi constituencies had given in most cases 60 percent advance to the decoration companies for the supplies needed on polling day. However, in the collection of the remaining 40 percent amount the decoration companies say that the remaining amount of the supplies made by them have not been received by them to date in spite of their best efforts to press the candidates for payment of the balance.
Only those who had taken full advance for the rent of Shamianas, rugs and tents from the candidates have fared better, however, even some of these decorators say that part of the chairs and tables suffered some damage in late night disturbances at some polling stations or due to overloading of the transport vehicles carrying the material back to the decorators' godowns or shops.
