The profit after tax of Soneri Bank Limited has increased to Rs 1 billion in the year ended December 31, 2007 as compared to Rs 985.298 million in the corresponding period in 2006. The board of directors of the bank in its meeting held on Friday declared that the earning per share of the bank surged to Rs 2.43 in 2007 against Rs 2.39 in 2006.
The bank's mark-up/return/interest income increased to Rs 6.271 billion in this period against Rs 5.536 billion in the period a year back while the mark-up/return/interest expenses stood at Rs 4.334 billion against Rs 3.768 billion.
Total non-mark-up/interest income increased to Rs 1,067.664 million in this period against Rs 754.877 million while the non-mark-up/interest expenses reached at Rs 1,293.445 million against Rs 1.037.006 million. The bank's profit before tax increased to Rs 1.476 billion in 2007 as compared to Rs 1.448 billion in 2006.
