Pakistani expatriates in the Gulf countries specially Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sultanate of Oman, Qatar and Muscat as also Iran and Turkey have expressed great happiness over the general election results in Pakistan and have expressed the hope that the winning parties in the election will pursue the promised economic agenda with vigour, reports UPP correspondent.
There are some seventeen Pakistani expatiates clubs and associations in the Gulf countries who have all sent messages of greetings to the leaders of the parties that have obtained good returns in the general elections including the Pakistan Peoples Party Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and the Nawaz League President and the elder brother Shahbaz Sharif and Mian Nawaz Sharif respectively.
In the city of Dubai specially the friends and admirers of the Bhutto-Zardari family have been making a beeline for extending greetings to Asif Ali Zardari's representatives in Dubai while friends and admirers of Mian Nawaz Sharif and Mian Shahbaz Sharif have called the two leaders on e-mail and by telephone from Saudi Arabia specially the city of Jeddah on their success in the elections and praying for their further success in the working of a democratic order in Pakistan.
However, one message which is clear and loud from the Pakistani expatriates to their leaders of choice - Asif Zardari and the Sharif brothers - is that the policies in the economic filed should be expatriate friendly and maximum facilities should be given for the Pakistani expatriates in putting their savings in good investment projects in Pakistan.
It is increasingly being urged by the Pakistani expatriates that the relations with the Gulf countries must be promoted to the optimum level and Pakistan should be made even more attractive for the investors from the Gulf countries which are currently overflowing with record incomes from oil and other exports.
Both Asif Ali Zardari and Mian Nawaz Sharif are very favourably inclined to providing maximum opportunities to the Pakistani expatriates in making safe investments in the economic sector in Pakistan, it is gathered and the Pakistan expatriates are very hopeful that it will be more attractive Pakistan for investors under the new democratic government.
