Anwar Kamal elected LHCBA chief

Anwar Kamal and Rana Asdullah Khan have been elected as president and secretary respectively for Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) for the year 2008-09. Mian Muhammad Aslam was elected as vice president for LHC bar association in the annual elections held here on Saturday.
The polling for election of LHCBA was started at 9:00 am and continued till 5:00 pm in Lahore High Court peacefully. Anwar Kamal was elected president by getting 3,507 votes, his rival Pervez Inayat Malik got 1,068 votes, Mian Aslam vice president obtained 1,575 votes while his rivals Babur Khilji got 1,003 votes. Mian Jamil Akhtar also got 989 votes for the post of the vice president.
Rana Asadullah Khan was elected as secretary by getting 1,846 votes and Zahid Hussain Malik secured 946 votes. Syeda Feroza Rubab became finance secretary and she obtained 1802 votes. Anila Cheema her rival got 1,419 and Zahid Sikandar bagged 1,352 votes. It is pertinent to mention here that only vice president Mian Aslam was supported by Latif Khosa group while all other elected office bearers of LHCBA were supported by Aitzaz Ahsan and Hamid Khan Groups.
