Directive for plots to low-paid NWFP Secretariat employees

Caretaker Chief Minister of NWFP Shams-ul-Mulk has directed the Provincial Housing Department to arrange additional 1,000 plots for the low grade employees of Civil Secretariat.
He gave this directive during a meeting to discuss the demand of civil secretariat employees regarding provision of plots in the Regi Lalma and Hayatabad Township schemes. Local Government Secretary Hamad Owais Agha, Administration Secretary Colonel Ghulam Hussain (Retd) and Director General of CD&MD Jan also attended the meeting.
The Chief Minister was informed that 2,000 plots were available in the Regi Lalma and Hayatabad Township schemes However, the Chief Minister directed the Housing Department to arrange 1,000 more plots for allotment to the low-grade employees of the civil secretariat.
The Chief Minister said that the low earning groups should have housing facilities, and added the government had taken step for the provision of plots to all employees of low earning groups on principle.
It wanted the poor to enjoy residential facilities of their own, he added. He expressed the hope that this facility would provide the sort of satisfaction they had been demanding for long. The Chief Minister also approved a plot for the Engineering Council in Peshawar. He also approved new vehicles for the new cabinet members, and asked the Secretary, Administration, to submit a report as soon as possible.
