Scotland Yard findings

24 Feb, 2008

PPP leaders have outrightly rejected the findings of the Scotland Yard experts that Mohtarama Benazir Bhutto had died of blast and not of bullets in the Liaquat Bagh Rawalpindi suicide bomb attack. They have at the same time reiterated the demand for a probe under the banner of the United Nations.
While dismissing the Scotland Yard experts report summarily and demanding a UN probe, the PPP leaders have not announced whether they would accept the findings of a world body sponsored investigation if at all it takes place and comes out with the same conclusion that the blast was the cause of Mohtarama Benazir Bhutto's tragic demise.
The probe by the Scotland Yard experts was agreed to by President Pervez Musharraf to silence the critics of the local investigators. It is a matter of factual coincidence that the findings of the Scotland Yard experts endorsed what Pakistani investigating officials had announced earlier.
