Mengal's plea taken up today

26 Feb, 2008

The Supreme Court will hear on February 26 (today) former Balochistan chief minister Sardar Akhtar Mengal's petition against placing his case on the dormant file. In the petition, the nationalist Baloch leader has argued that a case of kidnapping of an army man was registered against him which was heard by the Presiding Officer, Anti-Terrorist Court No V, Karachi.
He said the Anti-Terrorist court declared him absconder and placed his case on the dormant file whereas he was in government custody and locked up in Machh jail of Balochistan. He has prayed that the kidnapping case be quashed against him.
