ANP demands re-polling in district Shangla

27 Feb, 2008

Awami National Party (ANP) has rejected the polls result of NA-31, PF-87 and PF-88 constituencies of the Shangla district and demanded of the Election Commission to hold re-polling in the constituencies.
Provincial President of ANP, Afrasiyab Khattak alleged PML-Q provincial chief, Ameer Muqam of using state machinery and billions of development funds during election campaign. He said that armed workers of PML-Q polled bogus votes in thousands and snatched ballot boxes of 30 polling stations from the presiding officer of Bisham and put them on fire.
Khattak was addressing a press conference along with defeated candidates of ANP from Shangla district, Haji Saeed-Ur-Rehman and Muhammad Diyar Khan here on Tuesday. To a query Khattak said that ANP would call the parliamentary party meeting immediately after the notification of Election Commission.
