Vegetable prices shoot up by Rs 50 per kg

Karachi vegetables supply shrink has let loose a rampant rise in vegetables market prices by Rs 20 to Rs 50 per kilogram. Sabzi Mandi sources told a private TV channel that the vegetable crops hit by the severe cold diminished supplies and triggered prices steeply hiking during last few days, a private TV channel reported.
Following the price hike, pumpkin price doubling mounted to Rs 100 from Rs 50, bitter gourd to Rs 120 from Rs 80, cucumber to Rs 60 from Rs 25, capsicum to Rs 80 from Rs 50, ladyfinger to Rs 100 from Rs 60, ginger to Rs 80 from Rs 60, tori to Rs 60 from Rs 40 and green chilli to Rs 80 from Rs 50 per kilogram.
