Funeral prayer of Lieutenant General Mushtaq Ahmed Baig, Surgeon General Pakistan Army and Director General Medical Services was offered at General Headquarters Ground here on Tuesday. He was laid to rest in Army graveyard with full military honours.
President Pervez Musharraf, Caretaker Prime Minister Mohammedmian Soomro, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Tariq Majid, Chief of Army Staff, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Afzal Tahir and a large number of senior serving and retired military officers, junior commissioned officers, jawans, relatives of the martyred and people from all walks of life attended the prayer.
A smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Army presented the Guard of Honour to the martyred. The bodies of martyred Havildar Nazar Muhammad and Driver Naik Anwar were dispatched to their native villages Khatale, Tehsil Barnala, District Bhimber of AJK and Village Khewal, of Chakwal, respectively, for burial.
