GCU holds inter-varsity students discussion

The Environment Protection Society (EPS) of GC University, Lahore, on Tuesday organised an inter-varsity Round table students discussion at the seminar room of the varsity focusing the best alternative source of energy in Pakistan.
Solar energy or ethanol. Punjab University, the University of Engineering and Technology, F C College University, Garrison College of Girls participated in the discussion session. Dr Nuzhat Yar Khan, foreign faculty at sustainable development study centre, GC University, was the chief guest on the occasion.
During the discussion some of the institutions argued in favour of the use of solar energy as it is abundant in Pakistan while some students favoured ethanol.
They were of the view that ethanol is less expensive than solar energy and being an agricultural product can greatly held Pakistan over come its heavy dependence on oil and natural gas. Dr Nuzhat highly appreciated the students for their intellectual abilities and also lauded the Environment Protection Society of GCU for organising this discussion period on such a thought-provoking manner.
