Magsi's nomination as Governor Balochistan commended

Senators from Balochistan on Wednesday commended the decision of nominating Zulfiqar Magsi as next Governor for the province. "I commend this decision and thank the government on behalf of the people of Balochistan," Senator Pari Gul Agha said in the very outset of Wednesday's session of the Upper House of the Parliament.
Senators Wali Badini, Rehana Baloch and Ismail Buledi also appreciated the decision and said, it would further restore the confidence of the people. Acting Chairman Senate, Jan Jamali also joined the members to commend and appreciate this decision.
Before the question hour started some members raised points of order regarding different matters of what they described, of the urgent importance and recent occurrence. Senator Kamran Murtaza in continuation of the previous day's matter about appointment of the Chairman Pemra informed the House that Mushtaq Malik is son of Malik Salim Iqbal, a PML leader.
Senator Envar Baig again raised the matter of appointment of Chairman Nepra and said, the terms and conditions of the appointment and eligibility were amended to accommodate Khalid Saeed. He said the person joined the same day and in haste after he was appointed as Chairman Nepra.
Baig also accused Khalid Saeed for manoeuvring his appointment despite that three Federal Secretaries, as members of the selection committee, had forwarded name of five contests with recommendations to appoint one among them against this post.
He claimed that procedure was violated in his appointment and the person should leave one post as he cannot hold both according to the rules. Senator Azam Swati drew the attention of the House towards provision of sub-standard pre-fabricated houses to earthquake victims in Mansehra.
"Although this aid comes from Saudi Arabia, but local manufacturers are making money out of it by using sub-standard material," he said. "These are non resistance to fire and water," he said and demanded judicial probe into what he claimed, the illegal and corrupt practice.
