The district government has constituted seven committees to finalise arrangements for the Jashn-e-Baharan (spring festival) scheduled from March 24-27 here. Chairing a meeting on Friday, District Co-ordination Officer (DCO) Rao Shakil Ahmed said this festival would also comprise horse and cattle show that would represent the rural and pastoral lifestyle of this region.
Other events of the festival include bull dance, horse dance, camel dance, cattle competition, dog race, wrestling, civil defence demonstrations, gymnastics, various cultural events etc. District departments would set up stalls at the festival. At the end of the events those earning distinction would be awarded prizes.
