New crises to emerge if mandate not accepted: Hashmi

01 Mar, 2008

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader, Makhdoom Javed Hashmi has warned the establishment that new crises would emerge if it did not accept the February 18 mandate and continued plotting against the victors. Talking to local newsmen on phone here on Friday
Hashmi said that Pervez Musharraf's meetings with the PML-Q leadership and appointment of Nawab Zulfiqar Magsi as Balochistan governor besides recent increase in the prices of vegetable ghee, reduction in wheat quota for flour mills and various other steps indicate that the establishment has not accepted the election results wholeheartedly.
He said that peaceful transition of power would only be possible if the establishment accepted the people's mandate. Hashmi questioned President Musharraf's meetings with PML-Q leaders and elected representatives and his delaying of convening the parliament session.
