Sindh university purchases new OMR machine

The University of Sindh has purchased a new Optical Marks Reader (OMR) Machine of Sekonic SR-6500 Model for its Sindh University Testing Centre for Admissions and Employment on Saturday. The new OMR machine would be helpful in assessing of answer copies of the pre-entry tests as well as announcement of the results within possible shortest time.
The speed of the new machine is approximately 5,000 sheets per hour in addition to provide printing facility. With help of this machine the University would be able to announce results of the entry test of 10,000 candidates within three hours and display at its official web site.
The Vice Chancellor of the University Mazharul Haq Siddiqui inaugurated the newly purchased OMR machine. On this occasion the machine was examined and assessment of different copies was tested and results obtained by machine were verified manually and found 100 percent accurate.
The co-ordinator of the Testing Center Dr Lutfullah Mangi, Registrar Muhammad Saleh Rajar, Dr Riaz Memon, Dr M. Saleem Chandio, Director Admissions Muhammad Ali Pathan and other concerned officers were present on the occasion. It is pointed out that old OMR machines lying in University's Testing Centre was assessing 2,000 answer sheets within one hour.
