Raise in salaries demanded as petroleum prices hike

President of Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda)'s Employees Pegaham Union, SD Saqib, has warned that the new rising prices of petroleum will add more woes to the common man. He told a department meeting at the regional office on Saturday that the caretaker government had no right to increase the prices of electricity and petroleum by-products.
"The government must increase employees' salaries and that the caretaker premier should announce a special relief package for the power authority and all power distribution companies.
