Chairperson of the English Department of GC University Lahore Professor Dr Nosheen Khan has donated three million rupees to the GCU Library Lahore. The library will set up a special Amtul-Arifa corner in the library. Amtul Hayee and Arifa Khan were the daughters of Professor M.A Khan former Principal Government College Lahore.
The donation will be utilised to purchase books on different disciplines like History, Political Science, Psychology and English Literature. It is worth mentioning here that Amtul Hayee was the alumni of the History Department of GCU in 1945-1947. The GCU library has the honour to receive 38 personal collections to date.
All the books of these collections have been donated by the literary figures like Ashfaq Ahmed, Dr Waheed Qureshi, Abdullah Malik, Syed Waqar Azim, Malik Meraj Khalid, Arshad Mir, Dr Khalid Aftab and Dr Zaheer Siddiqi. Vice Chancellor GC University Lahore Professor Dr Khalid Aftab has highly appreciated the donation extended by Dr Nosheen Khan and hoped that the Old Ravians would continue their support to their alma mater for the academic uplift of the institution.
