The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has arrested Baghbanpura Police Station Investigation Incharge Inspector Ahmed Ali Goraya for taking Rs 1.61 million bribe in two different cases.
A case against Abdul Sattar, Sub-Inspector and Bashir Ahmed, Naib Moharrar PS Baghbanpura has been registered at Police Station Anti-Corruption Headquarters as being co-accused.
According to details, Nageeb Ahmed Khan, a trader of Naqi Market lodged a complaint to Brigadier Muhammad Aslam Ghuman (Retd), Director General ACE that Inspector Ahmed Ali Goraya, in his capacity as Incharge Investigation PS Manga Mandi, received Rs 1.55 million from him for arresting the accused and recovery of the amount taken fraudulently from him.
But, Inspector Ahmed Ali Goraya, not only declared the accused innocent but also discharged the case. DG ACE constituted a two-member inquiry team comprising of Assistant Director Investigation HQs, Chaudhry Muhammad Akhtar Ali and PSO Haroon-ur-Rasheed.
The allegation levelled against Inspector Ahmed Ali Goraya proved true during inquiry and a case against him was immediately registered at PS ACE HQs. Meanwhile, Muhammad Anwar, a resident of Daroghawala also lodged an application to DG ACE that Inspector Ahmed Ali Goraya took Rs 60,000 as gratification when he was investigating the case as Incharge Investigation PS Baghbanpura.
Sub-Inspector Abdul Sattar and Naib Moharrar Bashir Ahmed also took Rs 17,000 as gratification for the same case but the accused party was declared innocent and the case was dismissed subsequently.
DG ACE constituted another inquiry team comprising on AD Investigation Chaudhry Muhammad Akhtar Ali and Inspector HQs Javed Virk which reported today that the allegations levelled against the accused officials have been proved true.
Another case against Inspector Ahmed Ali Goraya, Sub-Inspector Abdus Sattar and Naib Moharrar Bashir Ahmed was registered at PS ACE headquarters. The ACE officials arrested Inspector Ahmed Ali Goraya, Incharge Investigation PS Baghbanpura today and sent him to lock up for further interrogation while raids are being conducted to arrest Sub-Inspector Abdul Sattar and Naib Moharrar Bashir Ahmed.
