08 Mar, 2008

Balochistan National Party Awami (BNP-A) and Pakistan People's Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) have reached an agreement in a bid to form a coalition government in Balochistan province. "Under the agreement, BNP (A) would extend its support to PPP in formation of coalition provincial government with other parties on board," sources said.
Balochistan National Party Awami has secured total seven seats in the provincial assembly after the election commission notification while it has only one member elect in the national assembly.
The PPP bagged seven seats in the February 18 general polls while the number increased to 11 after allocation of seats reserved for women and minorities. One independent member elected had also joined the party after meeting with senior PPP leadership.
The PPP is also in contacts with other parties having representation in the provincial assembly including Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam (F) and its annoyed group.
