Musharraf has to go now at all cost: Khokhar

08 Mar, 2008

Punjab Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Malik Muhammad Afzal Khokhar has said the popular verdict has come against the dictatorship and that Pervez Musharraf has to go now at all cost.
Addressing a public meeting on Friday he said that President Musharraf and his cronies had evolved a plan to rig the polls but people thwarted their designs and defeated political pharaohs.
He said the PPP, PML-N and ANP were moving forward to address peoples' problems. "The three parties had reached an agreement over restoration of democracy. If these parties swerved from their pledges then people will not forgive them. We want to transform the country into Pakistan of Quaid-i-Azam. The former rulers looted billion of rupees in the name of ring road project; we will extract this embezzled money from their pockets," he said.
He said people had given mandate to the PPP and the PML-N despite rigging and these parties could change the destiny of the country if they respected this popular mandate and delivered on their pledges. The sovereignty of parliament and transparency of elections would only be ensured when judiciary would be independent.
