'PPP to undertake social, economic projects for uplift of people'

Asif Zardari has said that all party sponsored projects would be inaugurated by the next of kin of those Shuhadas who had laid down their lives for the cause of restoration of democracy. The PPP co-chairman expressed these views at a series of gatherings of MNAs-elect who have been calling on him to discuss the name of a person who would become Prime Minister.
Asif Zardari has been busy in consultative meetings with MNAs-elect to finalise the party's nomination for the future Prime Minister. The latest in the series was the meeting between Members-elect of National Assembly from Bahawalpur and D G Khan Divisions, held at Zardari House on Monday.
In addition to the nomination, he also discussed some immediate projects that PPP would undertake for social and economic uplift of the people. In the past, similar meetings have been held, with the party co-chairman and MNAs from Frontier, Balochistan, Karachi, Larkana, Sukkur, Hyderabad and Mirpur Khas divisions.
Zardari briefed the members on the issue the P M's candidature as well as talks held with PML-N leaders in Bhurban on Sunday. Zardari asked Members-elect to suggest a name as well as a few doable projects, which should be implemented within the first 100 days of the new government.
In this regard, Zardari emphasised that PPP sponsored development projects would be formally launched by the nearest of kin of Shuhadas who had laid down their lives in the struggle for restoration of democracy.
