Outlaws of four gangs held

Police have busted four criminal gangs involved in a string of murders, kidnappings and highway robberies and arrested 46 gang members. They have also seized looted property worth Rs 3.5 million. Investigation Deputy Inspector General Tassaduq Hussain told a press conference on Monday at the Police Lines Qilla Gujar Singh.
He said Capital City Police Officer, Additional IG Malik Muhammad Iqbal had ordered him to take effective measures to curb the city crimes and a number of teams headed by SPs of investigation wing were constituted for this purpose. Giving details, the DIG said that first team headed by SP CIA Chaudhry Masood Aziz traced a gang of hardened criminals and arrested their 22 members.
The culprits had killed a trader namely Sarwar in police station Badami Bagh area on January 5 this year who had offered resistance during a robbery attempt.
Similarly, they also shot injured a police constable Agha Muzamil Khan in Harbancepura area who tried to capture them. The criminals of this gang have confessed to 50 incidents during preliminary interrogation.
Another team headed by DSP CIA Kotlakhpat traced two criminal gangs involved in a number of incidents of Highway and house robberies. The felons of the above mentioned gangs confessed to 35 such incidents. Likewise, the third team headed by SP Investigation City Division Sarfraz Ahmed Falki arrested 12 members of a gang involved in murder and kidnapping for ransom cases.
The accused had kidnapped Omer Maqsood from Lower Mall area and later murdered him and threw his body in BRB Canal. They also shot dead a SDO who was kidnapped for ransom. Moreover, another team headed by SP Investigation Jahanzaib Nazir Khan and SP Saddar Nizam Shahid Durani arrested three criminals of a gang involved in highway robberies. A criminal of this gang Naveed alias Needa was killed in police encounter on March 6 this year while looting a coach at Chunian Road.
Similarly, Ravi Town division arrested three goons who had shot dead a mobile shop owner during a daocity in Badami Bagh area. The police recovered one car, eight motorcycles, 70 cell phones, six lakh in cash, 20 tolas of gold ornaments, two TV, 33 pistols, one pump action, one revolver and bullets from their possession.
The police identified the criminals as Habib-ur-Rehman, Mubeen Butt alias Dunga, Omer Butt, Usman, Mushtaq Ahmed, Khan Bahadur, Muhammad Latif, Ali Butt, Shahbaz Ahmed, Yasir Tariq, Jalal Mohsin, Muhammad Suleman, Syed Jalil, Moesam Shah, Muhammad Imran, Ali Ramzan, Khalil Ahmed, Stephan Sanam Khan, Abeadullah, Muhammad Waqqas, Sharbat Khan, Sardar Wali Khan, Suleman Khan, Waqas Ali, Muhammad Idrees, Khalid, Mukhtar Ahmed, Qaisar, Abdul Sittar, Rehmat Ali, Muhammad Tufail, Salamat Ali, Ashraf, Anwar Bibi, Muhammad Iqbal, Shahzad Ahmed, Muhammad Ishfaq, Muhammad Illyas, Ghulam Mustafa, Sohail Masih, Babar, Muhammad Ashraf, Qaisar, Mukhtar, Sittar and Muzamil Hussain.
Later in answer and question session, DIG Tassaduq Hussain said that investigation team is investigating the tragic incident of Navel War College and investigation will be completed soon. He also said that the ratio of submission of challans of crimes against property remained 50 percent during last two months. Capital City Police Officer, Additional IG Malik Muhammad Iqbal has announced cash prizes and commendatory certificates for the police raiding teams.
