Parties should avoid confrontational politics: minister

11 Mar, 2008

Caretaker Minister for Inter-Provincial Co-ordination Dr Mohammad Amjad has said that all the political parties, instead of confrontational politics, should work collectively for resolution of people's problems.
In a statement issued here on Monday he said the country was facing a number of challenges including terrorism, poverty, price-hike and law and order, adding that it was the responsibilities of all political parties to address these issues.
He said that political parties who have been given mandate by the masses should come up to expectations of the people. He said the caretaker government had fulfilled its responsibilities by holding free, fair and transparent polls and added that the powers would soon be transferred to new elected representatives.
The minister said the Ministry for Inter-Provincial Co-ordination has prepared very important and useful proposals to remove the sense of deprivation of smaller provinces.
He said that implementation on these proposals was responsibilities of the new government. He hoped that these proposals would prove very useful and acceptable for all the federating units of the country.
