MQM rally against torture on AJK legislator

11 Mar, 2008

Activists of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) held a protest outside Lahore Press Club (LPC) on Monday to press the authorities concerned to award punishment under the law to those who tortured Haq Parast legislator in Azad Kashmir Assembly Tahir Khokhar.
Led by Lahore MQM organiser Rana Farhat Ali, the protestors, who were carrying placards and banners, chanted slogans in favour of their demands. Addressing the protestors, Rana Farhat Ali said the workers of Altaf Hussein were waging a peaceful struggle for bringing revolution in the country, but some elements did not like the MQM to spread the message of righteousness.
"Only Haq Parast legislators are waging practical struggle for the resolution of problems confronted to the masses," he said. The only sin of Tahir Khokhar was that he raised the issue of use of government resources by the son of AKJ premier, he added.
