President Pakistan Muslim League-Q Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has convened its parliamentary party meeting on March 17 at Parliament House to hammer out its future line of action in the House.
The meeting would be chaired by Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and would be attended by the newly elected members of the former ruling League. The former ruling party, which would sit on the opposition benches after failing to secure maximum seats in the February 18 elections and mindful to play the role of a progressive and constructive opposition.
Erstwhile ruling partners, PML-Q, MQM and PPP-Sherpao would sit on the opposition benches along with few independent members. PML-Q has already nominated former Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi as party parliamentary leader in the National Assembly who is likely to be the opposition leader in the Lower House, representing the largest faction of the opposition parties. PML-Q would field its candidates for Prime Minister, Speaker and Deputy Speaker to maintain democratic tradition.
