'Government committed to eliminate terrorism, extremism'

The caretaker Interior Minister General Hamid Nawaz (Retd) on Thursday reiterated the government's commitment for elimination of terrorism and extremism. He said that all possible measures would be utilised for curbing the menace of terrorism which is posing a great threat to the society as well as socio-economic development of the country.
He was talking to a delegation of Numal University students who called on him here at his office. The minister said the country's role in the war against terrorism is not only acknowledged locally but the international community has also appreciated the efforts.
He said the law enforcement agencies are performing their important role against terrorism and peaceful Muharram and general elections is testimony of this fact. He urged the student to play the important role for socio-economic uplift of the country as they have great responsibility on their shoulders. Earlier, the delegation appreciated the government's role in the international war against terrorism and assured their commitment for uplift of the country.
