A complete shutter down strike was observed in most areas of Balochistan on the call of Balochistan National Party (Mengal) against "non provision of medical facilities" to former chief minister Balochistan Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal.
All Parties Democratic Movement (APDM) Balochistan, Jamhori Watan Party (JWP), National Party and traders unions also supported the strike call. Almost all markets and commercial centres in all central and southern districts of the province including Quetta remained closed and traffic remained thin on roads.
