16 Mar, 2008

Hundreds of workers of shoe factories took out a rally against their owners in Toba Tek Singh city for not raising their wages. The rally started from Kamal Chowk and after marching through various roads concluded at the same place. The demonstrators chanted slogans and demanded raise in their wages.
Addressing the participants, labourer leaders said that 'worst' price hike had disabled them to spend their life in such nominal salary. They said that the factory owners earned millions but reluctant to pay proper labour charges to workers. They warned that if their demands were not accepted they would go on strike.
