'Musharraf's policies responsible for present crises'

16 Mar, 2008

Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) Senior Vice-President Makhdoom Javed Hashmi has said that due to the policies of Musharraf, our country is entrapped in many crises. The reaction of Lal Masjid and Wana operation is coming before us in the form of terrorism. He stated this on Saturday while talking to Business Recorder.
Hashmi said that with the departure of Musharraf, a prominent fall could be seen in terrorism. The upcoming government has made up its strategy to face the current challenges. To a question about which NA seat he will keep, he said that whatever the party leadership will decide, I will accept it. But it is my wish to keep the seat of Multan. We will take the oath under the Constitution, 1973.
"Musharraf should leave the office keeping in view the mandate of the people", he said, adding: "I don't believe in the politics just for the sake of power. The PML-N is firm on his point of view. Restoration of judiciary on the position of November 3, is our priority."
He said the parliament is the supreme department. In democracy, the parliament is superior to all departments, including Supreme Court. Some forces are trying to sabotage the unity of PML-N, PPP and ANP.
Now the situation has changed. Conspiracies in the President's House are dying now, he added. To another question, he said that Q-League is taking its last breath. Very soon the remaining members of Q-League will also join N-League.
'We have set the seat adjustment formula with PPP for the by-elections", Hashmi said, adding both the PPP and the PML-N will not field their candidates against each other in the by-elections.
Talking about the matter of Ameen Fahim, he said this is the internal matter of the PPP. This is the right of PPP to choose the candidate for the slot of the prime minister. Whomsoever, the PPP would nominate for premiership, PML-N will support it.
