19 Mar, 2008

Syed Ashraf Hussain, President, Pasban, Karachi has demanded of government to issue non-bailable arrest warrants against transport strikers and confiscation of their vehicles. He was speaking to a rally, which was organised by Pasban outside Karachi Press Club (KPC) on Tuesday.
He said that public transport fares were putting immense burden on public demanding government to fix it at Rs 3 for old citizens and students. He alleged that concerned authorities were patronising the transporters in their illegal business thus growing disenchantment among public.
He said that government should take stern action against transporters who intend to increase transport fares by observing strike. He demanded of government to issue arrest warrants against those transporters for increasing fares without government notification. He said that authorities should also confiscate vehicles of transport strikers, who intend to put pressure on government for increasing public transport fares.
