Secretary Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) Muhammad Arshad Bhatti has said that the authority was striving hard to promote technical education and vocational training in the country.
He was addressing a ceremony held in connection with signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Tevta and ProFarm Pakistan (Pvt) Limited, here at Tevta Secretariat. The MoU was signed by Arshad Bhatti and Managing Director ProFarm Pakistan, Steven Schulting, on behalf of their respective organisation.
Skilled manpower is the dire need of the industry and Tevta is offering demand-driven courses at its 413 Institutes through out Punjab. He said the agreement would help promote the live stock sector in the Punjab.
Under the agreement Tevta and the ProFarm Pakistan would start a short course on artificial insemination technician training programme to enhance milk production through better breeds. In first phase, the training course will be imparted at Govt. Technical Training Institute, Okara, from the next month.
Tevta will arrange space, classrooms, examination and certification while the ProFarm Pakistan manage a master trainer, develop a training curriculum, on-job training and employment opportunities for the pass-outs. General Manager (Operations) Tevta Tanvir A. Zafar, Manager Breeding and Artificial Insemination of ProFarm Dr Muhammad Ajmal Shahid and other officers of the authority were also present on the occasion.
