Kashmir issue to be taken up in world fora: Sultan Mehmood

The Former Prime Minister (PM), Azad Jammu and Kashmir AJK, Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry on Thursday stressed to the raise Kashmir issue at world fora and expedite diplomatic efforts in Pakistan and abroad.
Mehmood, who is also the President of People's Muslim League, AJK will address the European Parliament in Brussels next week and present the long-standing issue before the world community. In the Federal Capital, Mehmood held meetings with the US Ambassador, Anne W Paterson, British High Commissioner, Robert Brinkley and Norwegian, Swedish and Belgian Ambassadors and briefed them about the latest situation of Kashmir issue.
He urged the European Union (EU) to expedite their efforts to mediate as third party on the Kashmir issue. It is a historical fact that no India and Pakistan conflict were resolved bilaterally in the past, he added.
Mehmood also stressed participation of Kashmiri representatives in the dialogue process for a long-lasting solution to the issue. Further, he called for organising an intra-Kashmiri dialogue between Kashmiri representatives living on the both sides of Kashmir so that they could adopt a joint strategy on the issue.
