Wasim Sajjad resigns as leader of the house in Senate

Senator Wasim Sajjad on Saturday resigned as leader of the house in Senate. Wasim Sajjad told reporters that he resigned in accordance with the parliamentary traditions so that the new Prime Minister chooses leader of the house of his choice.
He met the Caretaker Prime Minister Mohammedmian Soomro at the PM House before he announced his resignation. He thanked Mohammedmian Soomro for his support and co-operation as Caretaker Prime Minister.
The Caretaker Prime Minister, while accepting the resignation, appreciated the contribution of Wasim Sajjad towards the functioning of the Senate. He also lauded his role in strengthening the democratic and parliamentary practices and traditions.
