Chairman Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation (Erra) and NAVTEC, Altaf Saleem has resigned from his office, a statement issued by Prime Minister Secretariat said. He submitted his resignation to the Caretaker Prime Minister, which was accepted, the statement said.
However, the statement said, he would continue to hold the office till appointment of his successor. He made a farewell call on Caretaker Prime Minister Mohammedmian Soomro here at the Prime Minister's House.
The Caretaker Prime Minister, while appreciating the services rendered by Altaf Saleem as Chairman Erra said that he had accepted a very demanding and challenging task of rehabilitation and reconstruction after the devastating earthquake. He also lauded the contribution of Altaf Saleem as Chairman NAVTEC and said that under his guidance the organisation improved the quality of programmes and increased the number of youth, who received training in various disciplines.
