Chairperson, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)'s Cultural wing Farah Deeba has said that this will be the priority of the new government to establish peace and improve the image of the country world-wide. She expressed her views while speaking in the seminar organised by the party to celebrate Pakistan Day at the Press Club here on Monday.
On the occasion she accused the last government of destroying the image of the country, adding that during the eight-year reign of Musharraf the country has learnt the label as terrorist state.
"This is the gift we got from the eight-year rule of President Pervez Musharraf. We thank the people of Pakistan and the media, particularly, for supporting and strengthening democratic forces and showing patriotism. The PML-N is fully devoted to making Pakistan a strong country," she said. She added, "The Pakistan Day has a special place in our history. The idea behind establishing a separate Islamic state was to protect Islamic culture, and it was the dream of Allama Iqbal."
The PML-N government is committed to reflecting the public sentiments in its working and following the teachings of Quaid-e-Azam to make the country strong, she said. In his speech, newly elected MPA Khawaja Imran Nazir said the party's government would continue struggling to restore deposed judges.
