The anti-measles campaign in the Punjab is progressing at a brisk pace, with a total of 2,821,140 children in the 9-month to 13-year age bracket were provided vaccine in the first six days, till Saturday, March 22. The drive, which commenced on March 17, will continue till April 3.
Observing that the campaign was picking up in all districts of the province, a Health Department press release here on Monday, issued details of the number of kids given the anti-measles shots so far in each district. The leading districts include Rawalpindi with 143,343 kids vaccinated, Gujranwala with 136,650, Lahore 279,973, Faisalabad 202,695 and Rahim Yar Khan 132,059.
Health authorities have urged people throughout the province to ensure that the target age children are provided the anti-measles vaccine by the special teams on duty at all schools, health centres, hospitals and various residential localities.
