Patchy rains and long spells of sunshine in Ivory Coast's main cocoa growing regions last week suggest a good April-to-September mid crop, farmers and analysts said on Tuesday. In the western regions of Soubre and Gagnoa, and southerly Aboisso and Agboville, farmers reported good rains and hot weather.
"It is raining practically once a week. There are lots of well-formed pods on the trees. That suggests an abundant mid crop," said state agronomist Joseph Sagou in the southern region of Aboisso.
