Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Sunday welcomed the decision to call back military officer and personnel from civilian institutions, but expressed concerns over the report of appointment of a serving army officer as Secretary Northern Areas.
In a statement issued here PPP spokesman Farhatullah Babar pointed out that the democratic forces were taking decision of recalling military officers from the civilian institutions as implementation of the Prime Minister policy. He noted that some wrong measures were being taken, which was against the Prime Minister's policy.
He mentioned media reports that serving army officer was appointed as Secretary Northern Areas while the service of present secretary, who was also army retired officer service has been extended till August 14. He said such reports disappointed the masses, who expressed pleasure over the announcement about the recalling of military officers from the civilian institutions.
